Good Cider, Great Cause

Rooted in the Past, Invested in the Future

At Tumbling Creek Cider Company, we've always believed that great cider starts with strong roots.

That's true of our apples, which grow in orchards on Kelly Ridge Farms that have been producing fruit for more than a century. It's true of our cider-making philosophy, inspired by the traditions and flavors that have shaped Appalachia for generations. And it's true of our commitment to supporting the people, stories, and institutions that make our community unique.

That's why we're proud to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Historical Society of Washington County with a special commemorative bottle of Hard Cider.

More than a fundraiser, this partnership is a celebration of the history that connects us all.

Preserving the Stories That Shaped Our Region

For decades, the Historical Society of Washington County has worked to preserve the rich history of Southwest Virginia and Upper East Tennessee. Their collection includes thousands of books, hundreds of thousands of digital images, and more than one million indexed records that help families, researchers, and history enthusiasts discover the stories of our region.

Those stories matter.

They tell us who we are, where we came from, and how generations before us built the communities we enjoy today.

As a company deeply rooted in this place, supporting that mission felt like a natural fit.

Beginning June 13, we'll offer a special anniversary bottle honoring the Historical Society's 90 years of service. For every bottle sold, $8 will be donated directly to the Historical Society to help continue their important work.

A Partnership Built on Shared Values

This collaboration didn't begin with a bottle.

Over the past year, we've partnered with the Historical Society through our Local Roots speaker series, a monthly gathering that brings community members together to share firsthand stories of life in Appalachia.

At each event, guests hear personal memories of historic moments, family traditions, local industries, and everyday experiences that helped shape our corner of the world.

It's storytelling hour—but with cider.

These aren't stories found in textbooks. They're living memories shared by longtime residents, newcomers, and families whose roots run deep in these hills.

Local Roots gives those stories a place to live on.

Heritage in Every Glass

Our focus has always been heritage-inspired cider.

Everything begins with Virginia apples, pressed in-house and fermented on site. We work closely with local and regional farms, sourcing ingredients that reflect the flavors and character of Appalachia. The apples grown on Kelly Ridge Farms remain at the heart of what we do.

From there, we blend, balance, and bottle everything right here at the cidery.

The result is cider that reflects the place it comes from.

When people visit Tumbling Creek, we hope they experience more than a beverage. We hope they experience a connection—to the land, to local agriculture, and to the generations of people who helped shape this region.

Your Story Belongs Here

One of the things we love most about Historical Society of Washington County is that it brings people together.

Whether you're a fifth-generation farmer, a family historian, a college student, or someone who recently discovered the charm of Southwest Virginia, your story and your history matters.

And it's why we're honored to support their mission as they celebrate ninety years of preserving our shared history.

Because at Tumbling Creek Cider Company, we believe great cider and great communities have something in common:

Both are built on strong roots.

And both are worth preserving. Both are…
